Senior Leaders are Saying - Our Guard and Reserve Soldiers sacrifice so much for our country and they are an indispensable part of the Army team ... However, it must be balanced with a complete and thorough demobilization process. - Army Chief of Staff Gen. Raymond T. Odiernos instructions concerning reserve-component Soldiers who will be demobilizing at installations in the United States over the holidays. Guard and Reserve Congressional Caucus Launches New Website - the Caucus, formed in 1996, has been instrumental in ensuring that our National Guard and Reserve components are adequately resourced to carry out their missions overseas, defend the homeland and provide crucial support to our nation’s citizens during natural disasters and national emergencies. The Caucus is genuinely interested in the future of the National Guard and Reserve components as a part of the Total Force Integration policy and the National Security Strategy, especially given their critical role in the Global War on Terrorism. In addition, they are interested in the improvement of employment and education opportunities for National Guard and Reserve personnel returning from overseas deployments. Interested RC Soldiers can View Active Duty Opportunities at Personnel Force Innovation (PFI) site.  Personnel Force Innovation (PFI) is a DoD program that matches guard and reserve members with DoD agencies for tours of active duty from 1 to 3 years. Most of these tours are stateside, and guard and reserve members can apply for a specific tour from a list of over 150 open positions on the PFI website at http://pfi.dod.mil.  Positions available are in administration, operations, budget/finance, engineering, IT, and others. What’s unique about this program is that service members could qualify for a tour based on any combination of military and civilian skills--not only military skills. Included in active duty tours through PFI are: -- Title 10 ADOS order with active duty pay, benefits, experience -- Earn additional guard/reserve retirement points and retirement age reduction -- Post 9/11 GI Bill eligibility -- Potential for "follow-on" federal civilian positions with defense agencies More information is available at http://pfi.dod.mil11/1/11
