The Lord Fairfax Silver Chapter serves USAWOA members in the National Capitol Region. The chapter adheres to the USAWOA principles of "Professionalism, Representation, and Recognition" for the benefit of active Army, National Guard, Army Reserve, retired and former Army warrant officers and families. The designation "Silver" indicates that the Chapter has been in continuous existence since the USAWOA founding.

Regular Monthly Meetings, third Thursday of the month at the Kingstowne Library (corner of Telegraph Road and Beulah Road) starting at 1700 hours.  Come on out and be a part of the chapter planning and camaraderie. Occasionally meetings are held at other locations.

In addition to monthly meetings, the Chapter participates in Warrant Officer Professional Development (WOPD) Seminars, Retiree Recognition days, community service projects, the Adopt A Highway" program and hosts specific events at or, in some cases, the entire USAWOA Annual Meeting of the Members.

Virginia Adopt-a-Highway Program - Chapter and family members clean the Fairfax County Parkway, Route 7100, from U.S. Route 1 to the Interstate Route 95 overpass on the third Saturday of one month each quarter from 7:30 to noon. Adopt-a-Military Child Program 2011

  • This year we have adopted four children thru the Metro Washington USO for the holiday season. Three are from one family. Their names, ages, and wish lists are as follows: Kayleah, female, 4 years old, loves Polly Pockets, Barbie Little Mommy doll or anything seen on TV. There is Ryan, male, 9 years old, who loves Lego, Nerf, and Army Halo toys. The third child is also named Ryan and he is 16 years old. He loves halo legos and army things. The other family has one male child: Maverick, 3 years old, who loves cars, trucks, robots and things to bounce. If anyone wants to purchase toys for any of these children please contact me first to insure that some else hasn't already spoken for them. We need their gifts for delivery to the Metro USO on December 10th or 12th.

  • The Fort Belvoir ACS is accepting gift cards and commissary gift certificates for distribution to needy families in their Operation Sugarplum program.

CW5 (Ret) Dick Markle delivered toys and gifts to the Fort Myer Army Community Services representative, Mr. Leonard Toyer, for their Holiday Share program to provide presents for needy children.  Presentation was made on behalf of the members of the Lord Fairfax Silver Chapter.
