DONALD WILLIAM "WOODY" WOODRUFF

Donald William Woodruff graduated from high school in Roselle, NJ, with his identical twin brother Ronald (LCDR, MSC, USN Ret, and former CWO4 USN).

 

He is a graduate of Regents College of the State of New York, with degrees in Liberal Studies for Business Administration (AD) and Psychology (BS).

 

"Woody" enlisted as a Private (E-2) in the Army Reserve Delayed Program and entered active duty at Fort Dix, NJ. He served as a Military Personnel Specialist in the Army Security Agency at Detachment 4, Sinop, Turkey and at Vint Hall Farms Station (1st USASA Field Station), Warrenton, VA..

 

 He was appointed from Staff Sergeant to Warrant Officer in MOS 711A (now 420A) as a Military Personnel Technician. He served in the Military Personnel Office, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD; in the Warrant Officer Division at the Army Military Personnel Center (now Human Resources Command), Alexandria, VA; in 510th AG Personnel Services Company, and HQ, SETAF, Vicenza, Italy; in Office of the Adjutant General at Headquarters Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), Fort Monroe, VA; during Desert Storm in Office of the Program Manager, Saudi Arabian National Guard, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; at the Pentagon in the Office of the Secretariat, Joint Staff and Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Manpower and Reserve Affairs; and back to TRADOC in the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Training.

 

  His awards include the LOM, DMSM, MSM-6, ARCOM-4, AAM, JMUA, AGCM, SWABS-3, KUKULIBM, and Joint Staff and Army Staff Identification Badges.

 

Upon retirement, he joined Booz, Allen, and Hamilton as an Analyst for Continuity of Operations Planning in the Army Operations Center at the Pentagon and Site R.

 

He returned to Fort Monroe as an Assistant Secretary of the General Staff for TRADOC, then as Human Resources Manager in Accessions Command, and currently with the Operations Directorate in TRADOC.

 

Woody married Maureen Ironmonger and they reside in her hometown of Poquoson, VA, among the quaint community, old families history, and occasional tidal flood.
